Why Medical Therapeutic Yoga!
This is a small group class composed of 10 or less people to allow for Dr. C to provide the necessary amount of attention to each participant. This practice is appropriate for all populations, but requires attention to detail on the part of Dr. C. It is the goal for each participant to understand and master a stable foundation prior to exploration of more complex tasks. Classes are provided over the course of 6 weeks with each class building on the prior and addressing a different component of the Pentagon of Wellness. The Pentagon of Wellness speaks to the component pieces of who you are and includes your psycho-emotional self, energetic self, spiritual self, physical self, and intellectual self. Individualized assessment will not be performed.
If pain or recovery from a specific injury are your primary aim for seeking this service, please visit https://www.thrivewithdrc.com/integrativephysicaltherapy. I look forward to meeting you wherever you are on your journey to thrive
Features of the Program
Small Groups
Small groups are comprised of 10 or less people to allow for Dr. You can either join a MTY group series beginning at level 1 or find a group of friends with whom you’d like to start a level 1 series. Individualized assessment will not be performed.
Levels Explained
MTY prioritizes breath and biopsychosocial stability (mental and physical relaxed state) over mobility. The functional movement algorithm begins with postures performed in lying positions and progresses to standing postures all with the focus of maintaining nature spinal curves. Level 1 focuses on postures lying down and seated. Level 2 introduces more postures in 4-point and standing. Level 3 works on more standing postures and semi-inverted positions.
